The most common thread type used by fire departments today is NST or National Standard Thread, also known as NH or National Hose, and occasionally referred to as NHT or National Hose Thread. However, NST or NH is more widely used these days. NH is equivalent to NST.

NPSH, or National Pipe Straight Hose, has the same threads per inch (TPI) as National Pipe Tapered (NPT), but the thread does not taper. NPSH is a straight thread and seals by a gasket in the female coupling, allowing for a swivel, much like NH / NST, making both ideal for hose couplings. It is important to note that a male NPSH coupling will not thread into a female metal or PVC pipe.

The IDM (Inside Diameter Measurement) of a 1.5" NST/NH nozzle is 1.8585" and conforms to the NFPA 1963 Standard for Fire Hose Connections, 2014 Edition. The 1-1/2" NH / NST female side will only connect to a male 1-1/2" NH / NST. If you require a 1-1/2" NPSH nozzle, this 1-1/2" NST nozzle will be too large for your hose, so please check the thread of your hose before making a purchase.

This fire nozzle, made with a polycarbonate body for resistance to high temperature and impact, and a brass stem for corrosion resistance, can be adjusted from a straight stream to a fog pattern for multipurpose use. By rotating the nozzle, you can control the on/off function and adjust the spray size, providing a consistent volume at any spray angle.

The nozzle is suitable for attaching to a fire hose and extinguishing fires. It can also be used for greenhouse applications, dust suppression, and evaporative cooling.
